Bury AFC vs Abbey Hey preview

In a repeat of last season’s Isuzu FA Vase, Abbey Hey face Bury AFC in the third round of the competition. Abbey Hey dominated last year’s fixture which saw them defeat their upcoming opponents 4-1 and reach the fourth round of the FA Vase for the first time in their history.

Highlights of last season’s 4-1 win against Bury AFC

Abbey Hey come into the game off the back of a 3-0 win against Cammell Laird on Wednesday evening, which saw them climb up to 8th position in the North West Counties First Division South. Manager Terry Hinks will be looking for his side to carry their momentum into Saturday’s fixture and advance into the next round of the Isuzu FA Vase, and one step closer to playing at Wembley Stadium.

The Abbey Hey supporters will be looking for another clean sheet as they aim to keep out Bury AFC midfielder, Lewis Gilboy, who has 14 goals in all competitions this season and featured in Wednesday’s game against Longridge, which saw them score two injury time goals to secure a 3-2 win against Longridge.

The fixture will take place at the Neuven Stadium, the home of Radcliffe FC, and will kick off at 12:30PM.
