TIER 3 RESTRICTIONS FIXTURE UPDATES
With the end of lockdown coming on Wednesday 2nd December, it has been confirmed that Greater Manchester will be placed under new Tier 3 restrictions. The FA have confirmed that no fans can attend games in these Tier 3 areas. The current restrictions on Greater Manchester and other areas are to be reviewed every two weeks by the government.
Unfortunately, we can confirm that the restart of our NWCFL season has been postponed until Saturday 19th December, where we hope to have left these Tier 3 restrictions and be able to welcome fans back to The Abbey Stadium.
Our FA Vase 1st round tie scheduled against Hemsworth MWCFC on Saturday 5th December will go ahead, however this will be played behind closed doors. Obviously this is not ideal and we would love the fans to be at the game, but it’s something we have to deal with in these unprecedented times. Please do NOT turn up at the stadium as you will not be admitted entry. Those who bought a ticket online can arrange a refund by contacting info@abbeyheyfc.com.
If successful against Hemsworth MWCFC, The Abbey will then travel to Ryhope CW in the FA Vase 2nd round proper on Saturday 12th December. This tie will also be played behind closed doors.
We want to be able to welcome you back to the ground to cheer the lads on, but it looks like that will have to wait a little bit longer. We’ll have updates on the restart of our NWCFL season on our social media and website so stay tuned.
